HANDA PILIPINAS ON WHEELS: DOST-PAGASA JOINS CARAVAN IN NCR

DOST-PAGASA participated in the Handa Pilipinas Mobile Caravan in the National Capital Region, held on November 27–28 in Pasig City and Valenzuela City, and on December 2–3 in Pateros and Pasay City, bringing disaster risk reduction knowledge and technologies closer to the public.

The public engaged with experts Engr. Lorenzo A. Moron, Engr. Christopher F. Perez, Engr. Benison Jay N. Estareja, Ms. Mary May Victoria M. Calimoso, and Ms. Rosalie C. Pagulayan on topics such as weather, thunderstorm and rainfall warnings, tropical cyclones, storm surge, and flooding. The discussions provided useful concepts and bulletins for disaster officers and managers, local officials, civil servants, and other community sectors.

Technology exhibits were also showcased, including the Flood Simulator/AR Terrain and the PANaHON interactive platform and iHeatMAP through the Interactive Display Information System (IDIS).
