ASEAN EU-German Climate Action Programme Visits DOST-PAGASA
Delegates participating in the Workshop on Climate Change Impacts on Energy Infrastructure under the ASEAN EU-German Climate Action Programme (ASEAN EU-CAP), in partnership with the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), conducted a site visit to the PAGASA Central Office on February 13, 2026.
Present during the visit were Deputy Administrator for Research and Development Dr. Marcelino Q. Villafuerte II, Weather Services Chief of the Climatology and Agrometeorology Division Ms. Thelma A. Cinco, ACE Representative Ms. Aldilla Noor Rakhiemah, Mr. Tiphaine Atzberger and Mr. Wolfram Lange of GIZ, along with delegates from various countries.
In his welcome remarks, Dr. Villafuerte greeted the delegates and highlighted the agency’s commitment to supporting climate-resilient energy systems across ASEAN while strengthening regional collaboration.
The delegates were introduced to DOST-PAGASA’s key products and services. They were then toured around the South-South Center of Excellence for Climate Information and Services as well as in the facilities of the Weather Forecasting and Marine Meteorological Services Sections and the Flood Forecasting and Warning Section, where a knowledge-sharing session further enriched the visit.
