WEATHER ADVISORY NO. 2

FOR: INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE (ITCZ) AND SHEAR LINE
ISSUED AT: 11:00 PM 2022 November 30

  HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS, THE INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE (ITCZ) WILL BRING MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINS OVER CARAGA, MISAMIS ORIENTAL, CAMIGUIN, CENTRAL VISAYAS, LEYTE, AND SOUTHERN LEYTE. LIGHT TO MODERATE WITH AT TIMES HEAVY RAINS WILL BE EXPERIENCED OVER THE REST OF EASTERN VISAYAS AND MINDANAO. MEANWHILE, LIGHT TO MODERATE WITH AT TIMES HEAVY RAINS IS EXPECTED OVER APAYAO, CAGAYAN, AND BATANES DUE TO THE EFFECT OF THE SHEAR LINE. UNDER THESE CONDITIONS, FLOODING AND RAIN-INDUCED LANDSLIDES ARE POSSIBLE, ESPECIALLY IN AREAS THAT ARE HIGHLY OR VERY HIGHLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO THESE HAZARDS AS IDENTIFIED IN HAZARD MAPS AND IN AREAS WITH SIGNIFICANT ANTECEDENT RAINFALL. THE PUBLIC AND DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OFFICES CONCERNED ARE ADVISED TO TAKE ALL NECESSARY MEASURES TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. PAGASA REGIONAL SERVICES DIVISIONS MAY ISSUE LOCAL HEAVY RAINFALL WARNINGS, RAINFALL/THUNDERSTORM ADVISORIES, AND OTHER SEVERE WEATHER INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO THEIR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AS APPROPRIATE. THE NEXT WEATHER ADVISORY WILL BE ISSUED AT 11:00 AM TOMORROW.
