SPECIAL WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS

The weather systems that are likely to affect most parts of the country during the Christmas Holidays are the southward migration of the tail-end of a frontal system, prevailing Northeast Monsoon and the passage of a low pressure system.
December 21-22: The northern and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, Eastern Visayas and the eastern section of Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with passing light rains becoming intermittent rains over the Cagayan Valley Region. The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with passing light rains.
December 23-25: Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated passing light rains while Visayas and Mindanao will experience generally fair weather conditions apart from some isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms on Christmas day.
December 26-31: A low pressure system is expected to approach the eastern section of Mindanao and will make landfall over Eastern Visayas. It will then cross Central and Western Visayas then move towards the Palawan province on the 28th of December. The weather condition throughout the whole archipelago will be generally cloudy with rainshowers becoming frequent over Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, the province of Quezon and the eastern section of Northern and Central Luzon. Flash floods and landslides are expected.
January 01-02, 2021: the tail-end of a frontal system and the southward migration of the Northeast Monsoon will bring frequent rains over the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela and Aurora. Flashfloods and landslides are expected. The rest of the country will experience generally fair weather conditions apart from some isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms
Sea travelers are advised to exercise extra caution due to expected big waves particularly over the seaboards of Northern Luzon, inland areas of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
