12 April 2022

The existence of two (2) tropical cyclones, Tropical Depression (TD) Agaton inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and Tropical Storm (TS) Malakas (outside PAR) will be the dominant weather systems to affect the entire archipelago. Today (April 12), TD “AGATON” will bring cloudy skies with rains over most parts of Southern Luzon including Metro Manila and Mindanao becoming frequent rains over the Visayas. Floods and landslides are expected in the provinces of Leyte and Samar areas. Gradual improvement of weather conditions over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao is expected tomorrow and onwards as Tropical Depression Agaton continues to weaken into a Low Pressure Area.

The remnants of Agaton are expected to merge with TS “MALAKAS” and then will move away from the Philippine Area of Responsibility. On Wednesday (April 13), the Eastern section of Visayas and Northern Mindanao will be mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, while the rest of the country will have fair weather conditions apart from isolated afternoon rain showers and thunderstorms.
On Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Black Saturday, and Easter Sunday (April 14 - 17), generally fair weather conditions apart from isolated passing rain showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening. Moderate to occasionally strong winds coming from the northwest to southwest will prevail over Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao today and tomorrow and the coastal waters along this area will be moderate to occasionally rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast and north with slight to moderate seas.

This weather outlook will be updated if significant weather changes occur. For more information please contact the Weather Division at telephone number (02) 8926-4258 or log on to www.bagong.pagasa.gov.ph.
