LAUNCHING OF THE DOST-PAGASA'S VIBER CHANNEL FOR PHIL. STANDARD TIME

In conjunction with the celebration of the National Time Consciousness Week 2025, the

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)is pleased to announce the official launch of a new Viber channel, "Oras Pinas”, dedicated to disseminating the Official Philippine Standard Time (PhST) to Filipinos across the country.

The Viber channel's introduction is a vital part of PAGASA and DOST’soosrs National Time Consciousness Week 2025 celebration, which raises awareness about the importance of precise time in the country's social, economic, and scientific activities. Time consciousness is critical for increasing productivity, minimizing errors, and ensuring that everyday operations run smoothly.

This digital initiative aims to raise awareness of the value of timekeeping and develop time consciousness by giving real-time, accurate, and synchronized time updates. The channel, which will be available on the Viber platform, will be a free and easily accessible resource for individuals, businesses, and government organizations who wish to align with the country's official time.

A 10-second countdown will be given before the official changing of the minute hand. Time updates will be done every 4:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 4:00 PM, and 8:00 PM everyday.

Agencies and stakeholders can easily join the Official Philippine Standard Time Viber
channel by searching for "Oras Pinas" in the Viber application. They can also join by clicking on the link or scanning the QR code provided via the official PAGASA official website and social media accounts.
